WL-PM-E/Letter to: DRMS Subject: Response to Comments
Note 3 should read: "assume 2 tons of weed-free mulch per acre." and not "per
ton."
b. Mulch used will be as specified and authorized by BLM; we assume that BLM
will concur with the Division's recommendation.
c. As stated and approved in the original application, not all reclaimed areas
will have soil spread on them: areas which are reclaimed as roads or which are
to be used after reclamation for commercial and/or industrial activities (as
approved by La Plata County) will not have soil placed on them, as this would
waste soil and render those areas unsuitable for the proposed post-reclamation
use. In addition, areas such as armored drainage swales, slopes, or channels will
not have soil spread, since that would result in erosion and sedimentation
downstream.
d. The landowner of the private lands has agreed to use the same seed mix as
required by BLM for those areas to be revegetated.
4. A copy of this letter is being filed with the county clerk and a receipt obtained from
that office (see attached copy or copy provided separately).
Sincerely
Nathan A.
