This letter was prepared in accordance with our verbal agreement
with Venture Resources, Inc. dated March 3, 2010. The data obtained and our findings
are presented in this letter. The wetland inspection site visit was conducted on March 3,
2010, by a representative of H-P Geotech.
The Hukill Gulch Millsite encompasses approximately 40 acres. The area observed
within the tailings impoundment area is approximately 8 acres and this footprint shall be
considered the "site" and is located on the attached Figure 1 outlined in red. The site
consists of a steep slope facing southeast to south to southwest in a bowl configuration.
At the base of the steep slope, a tailings impoundment barrier is present. During our site
visit, the site was primarily free of snow. The vegetation consisted of mainly juniper
trees and a few pine trees. The soils exposed approximately 12 inches below the ground
surface were silty, gravelly sand with cobbles and boulders (USDA - sandy loam with
gravel). Multiple mine tailing piles and large rock outcrops were noted on the surface.
Although the site is bowl-shaped, no water channels, ditches (wet or dry) or defined
banks were visible during our visit, as well as, no signs of intermittent, femoral, or
• perennial streams on the site.
Glenwood Springs 970-945-7988 • Parker 303-841-7119 • Colorado Springs 719-633-5562
