PERMIT #: M-1977-451
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: GRM
INSPECTION DATE: July 22, 2010
A small infestation of knapweed is noted near the northern end of the topsoil stockpile. If untreated the small patch
will quickly become a major issue with impacts on reclamation in the future. Mr. Williams noted the weed patch and
stated it would be treated this season. Continued monitoring of the noxious weed patch must be done. If the patch
grows much. beyond it's current area DRMS will require a Technical Revison to include a plan for noxious weed control.
While under normal circumstances a TR is not a major change it may have affects on whether the required DMO
amendment submission would be triggered. DRMS is noting this as an issue of concern that will be changed to a formal
problem if not corrected by the correction date as requested at the end of this report.
No equipment or materials are observed stored on site. The bond was last reviewed in 2005 when Cotter started the
SR-11 portal. DRMS staff will update the bond as required noting the disturbance to date.
As noted there are three issues that need attention. DRMS is listing the issues informally to allow the operator to
address them. Should the issues not be addressed as requested the issues will be changed to problems with formal
correction dates required.
If you need additional information regarding this report please contact Russ Means at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining, and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by
telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Operator Contact Address
Glen Williams
Cotter Corporation
P.O.
