SECTION 221123 <br />]FACILITY WATER DISTRIBUTION PUMPS <br />PART 1— GENERAL <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION <br />A. The contractor shall furnish a product lubricated line shaft vertical turbine pump, with <br />below ground suction and above ground discharge flanges, suction can and furnished with <br />suitable driver and accessories to meet the requirements herein or as shown on the <br />drawings. The pump shall be designed and furnished to conform to the Hydraulic Institute <br />-- and AWWA specifications for Line shaft Turbine Pumps and comply with all local and <br />state sanitary and safety regulations. <br />B. Design Requirements <br />1. Design conditions of 1200 gpm @ 125 feet TDH, Minimum bowl efficiency of 84 <br />percent. See Drawings for overall length, bottom of discharge head to bottom of <br />bowl. Maximum allowable speed is 1800 rpm. <br />2. Design Basis: National Pump or equivalent <br />1.2 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Shop Drawings and Product Data: Uuon request from the Owner or En ig_neer the <br />Contractor shall submit the following: <br />1. Performance curve showing expected performance at design point. Curve shall show <br />head, capacity, efficiency and horsepower based on bowl performances and shall <br />cover the complete operation range of the pump from zero capacity to the maximum <br />capacity. <br />2. Drawings of the proposed equipment giving general dimensions sufficient to <br />determine how the equipment is to be supported and if it will fit within the space <br />available. <br />3. Any additional information such as descriptive literature, manufacturer's <br />specifications and other data to demonstrate compliance with these specifications. <br />PART 2 — PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MATERIALS <br />A. Pump Construction <br />1. Suction/Discharge Head <br />a. Shall be of fabricated steel, accurately machined with a rabbet fit for mounting <br />the driver and supporting the pump column assembly and with below ground <br />suction and discharge flanges machined and drilled to ANSI standards for 150# <br />rating.
