SECTION 0145 00 <br />QUALITY CONTROL <br />PART 1-- GENERAL <br />1.1 Summaiy of Work <br />A. All workmanship and materials shall be subjected to inspection by the Owner /Engineer, <br />who may select samples of materials in such number and quantities as he /she may deem <br />necessary to determine their conformance with the specifications and project intent. <br />B. All rejected materials and work shall be promptly removed by the Contractor from the <br />premises and adjacent surroundings. <br />C. All rejected work or materials shall be promptly replaced to the satisfaction of the <br />Engineer. <br />D. The Owner /Engineer reserves the right to inspect any component of the work at any time. <br />The items of work are being reviewed for conformance with the design intent as well as <br />workmanship and quality of materials. The Contractor shall cooperate with the <br />Owner's /Engineer's inspections. When identified in Technical Specifications, notification <br />shall be provided to the Engineer 48 hours in advance of the time the inspections are <br />needed. <br />PART 2 — PRODUCTS (Not Used) <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 Inspection and Testing <br />A. The Contractor shall furnish samples of materials for testing, if requested by the <br />Owner /Engineer, at no additional cost. <br />B. Tests by the Engineer will be made in accordance with commonly recognized standards of <br />national materials testing organizations and any such other special methods as deemed <br />necessary. <br />C. Any and all materials necessary for the construction of any part of the work and associated <br />improvements not specified shall be of the best available quality acceptable to the <br />Owner/Engineer. <br />3.2 Samples <br />A. The Contractor shall prepare and submit such samples as are required elsewhere in these <br />specifications at such time as is necessary to allow sufficient time for retesting or <br />modification of the work, at the Owner's/Engineer's discretion, based on evaluation of the <br />samples. <br />3.3 Final Inspection <br />A. Final inspection shall take place after all requirements for Substantial Completion have <br />been completed, including all punch list items outlined in other Sections of these <br />specifications. <br />014500 -1 <br />
