PERMIT #: M-2010-024 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM <br />INSPECTION DATE: July 7, 2010 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This inspection was a pre-operational inspection conducted by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining <br />and Safety to assess the proposed 18.88 acre 112c permit area. The Spring Creek Gravel Pit is located <br />approximately 6 miles east of Rangely, Colorado off of Rio Blanco County Road 122. Paul Daggett of the <br />BLM White River Field Office accompanied the inspector during the inspection. <br />The required posting of the notice of pending application for a reclamation permit was in place and in <br />compliance with rule 1.6.2(1)(b). The notice was posted at the main entrance of the proposed operation. The <br />proposed operation is located at the base of a burnt shale outcrop near the Spring Creek Drainage. The existing <br />vegetation consisted of sage brush and pinion and juniper. The access road is pre-existing and is going to <br />undergo improvements once the site is permitted.
