The inspection commenced at approximately 8:30 a.m. Spencer Ryland, Montrose County
Staff Engineer, was present during the inspection. Photographs are included at the end of this report to illustrate the
conditions observed during the inspection.
The Soderquist Pit is located approximately 4.5 miles south of Cimarron, and accessed by turning north off of Cimarron
Road approximately 3 miles from Highway 50.
The purpose of AM 1 is to replace 2.37 acres of undisturbed area on the north side of the permit area with 2.37 acres of
undisturbed area on the west side of the permit. The undisturbed northern portion to be removed from the permit is
densely wooded, whereas the undisturbed western portion to be added to the permit is a grass field that contains little to
no trees.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers were in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. The
"Permit Boundary" signs define the affected area for the existing permit (Figures 3-4), while the area to be added is
marked with survey stakes (Figure 7).
No noxious or problematic weeds were observed during this inspection.
No problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Spencer Ryland, Montrose County
Montrose County
P.O.
