Mathews <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman St., Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: Seneca II Mine (Permit No. C-1980-005), Permit Revision Application No. 2 (PR-2) (CHS <br />#57513) <br />Dear Mr. Mathews: <br />Thank you for your recent correspondence dated June 28, 2010 (received by our office on July 1, 2010) <br />and the documentation regarding the subject project. <br />Based on the nature of the proposed project in addition to the fact that no additional lands would be <br />incorporated in to the permit area, it is our opinion that no historic properties will be affected and the <br />project may proceed without additional cultural resources inventory. <br />If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work <br />_must_be_interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of <br />Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
