We are a family
run operation, specializing in producing aggregate. One of the key principles of our business is to
offer high quality processed aggregate, using the most advanced and environmentally friendly
processes used in the mining industry. I have enclosed a recent article written about my
company, to give you a brief background of our body of work and our long standing reputation
in the mining industry.
I am writing this letter to you, to let you know that we have been in very active discussions with
Brian Barton to form a partnership and that during our discussions, we have been notified of the
current situation with regard to the fine levied upon the pit. Please know, that immediately upon
reaching an agreement (which should happen with the next few weeks), Thalle Industries would
be willing to come up with the necessary funds to cover the additional reclamation burden. At
this juncture, to keep our discussions heading in the right direction, I respectively ask that you
extend Mr. Barton's time to increase his reclamation bond to the committee's desired amount.
That upon receipt by the board of the additional security monies, that you waive the levied fine.
As you probably already know, it is very difficult if not impossible to get a reclamation bond in
the amount requested by your committee, for many reasons. The most significant being, that the
amount does not justify the fees that would be necessary to underwrite such a small policy. For
that reason, Mr. Barton would in essence have to come up with the money himself, which is not
possible during these financial times. As he is a hard working person within your community, I
was hoping that you would be able to help him in a time of need.
I appreciate your consideration of my request, as it will be very difficult for us to come to terms,
if the pit was to incur such a costly fine. If you have any questions, or if I can be of any further
assistance, please do not hesitate to call me.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Glenn Pacchiana.
