CHRONOLOGY <br />Yoast Mine <br />Federal Lease C- 0114093 and C- 088193 <br />Mining Plan Decision Document <br />DATE EVENT <br />August 15, 1994 The State Historic Preservation Office <br />assessed the cultural resource <br />mitigation plan and made recommendations <br />for protection of cultural resources. <br />November 14, 1994 Seneca Coal Company (Seneca) submitted <br />the permit application package (PAP) <br />under the approved Colorado State <br />Program to the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology (DMG) and the <br />Office of Surface Mining ( OSM) for a new <br />permit for the Yoast Mine. <br />November 21, 1994 Colorado DMG determined that the PAP was <br />administratively complete for public <br />review and comment. <br />January 5, 1995 Seneca published in the Hayden Valley <br />Press the fourth consecutive weekly <br />notice that its complete PAP was filed <br />with Colorado DMG. <br />January 20, 1995 OSM furnished comments on the PAP, <br />generated during the review of the PAP <br />by Federal agencies, to Colorado DMG. <br />May 9, 1995 OSM received final concurrence with <br />approval of the mining plan from the <br />Bureau of Land Management. <br />June 30, 1995 Colorado DMG issued their draft permit.. <br />July 7, 1995 OSM received Colorado DMG's draft permit <br />for review and comment. <br />July 13, 1995 OSM submitted its comments regarding the <br />draft permit to Colorado DMG. <br />August 1, 1995 Colorado DMG approved the PAP. <br />August 2, 1995 OSM received final consultation comments <br />on the mining plan from the U.S. Fish <br />and Wildlife Service. <br />August 1995 OSM's Western Regional Coordinating <br />Center recommended that the mining plan <br />be approved. <br />
