OF ?yq
For Wildlife-
For People
The Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) has reviewed the Climax Molybdenum Company Henderson Mine and
Mill request to update and correct the Henderson Mine project boundaries in the mining plan. This facility is
located in or near Section 23, Township 2S, Range 78W, 6`'' Principle Meridian in Grand County, Colorado.
CDOW appreciates the opportunity to comment on this mining permit application and would like to provide the
following information.
This amendment application will correct previous errors in a survey for the Henderson Mine project boundary. It is
our understanding that there is no change proposed in the affected land use or acreage of land to be mined at this
time. CDOW recommends that as areas of the mine site are disturbed that they be stabilized and reclaimed as soon
as possible. Future mining activities will result in tailings ponds increasing in size and the loss of wildlife habitat.
These impacts have previously been considered in the current operations plan and no additional impacts from this
amendment are anticipated.
We have appreciated the opportunity to provide comments on this technical revision application. If you have any
questions please contact District Wildlife Manager Mike rosby at 970-725-3627.
Sincerely,
Lyle .
