In late spring of 2009, fertilizer was broadcast spread over areas that did not <br />received an application of soil enhancement in conjunction with the application of hydro- <br />seeding and mulching. <br />A shrub transplant area was selected in area C-1 and enclosed in Elk Fence to provide <br />protection from grazing. Species transplanted included Buffalo Berry, Sumac and Woods <br />Rose. <br />A minor amount of additional soil was removed from Topsoil Borrow Area BA-3 and <br />used to provide additional soil cover along drainage channels leading to ponds 6 and 7. <br />Subsequently these areas were seeded and BA-3 was graded to final contour, covered <br />with soil material stockpiled at BA-3 and seeded and mulched with the approved seed <br />mix and certified weed free mulch. Straw bale dikes and straw waddles were placed <br />along steep slopes to control potential erosion. <br />Weed control was contracted by the surface owner and included spraying for knapweed <br />and Canadian thistle primarily along roadways to CBM wells.
