The Division finds that the proposed design of the bulkhead, required to address concerns about eliminating
an oxygenated atmosphere in portions of the workings in the post-mining setting, is adequate for approval. It
is expected that proper location and installation will be performed at the time of closure, as represented in the
plans. Upon completion of the bulkhead(s), the operator must provide a report summarizing the installation.
Please provide written acceptance of this requirement.
Written Acceptance of Amendment Requirements and Conditions. All technical adequacy issues that were
reviewed by this office and previously found adequate are not discussed herein. The Division therefore
expects that the operator will follow and adhere to those aspects of the EPPs, in form and content of their
final iteration. The technical details that required more time to settle, and which are the final aspects of the
EPPs discussed in this letter, will require the operator's written acceptance in order to be considered
"adequate for approval." Upon receipt of Denison's written acceptance of these requirements and
conditions, the Division can consider the amendments adequate for approval, and the Division will prepare
any final QC specifications and standards for uranium ore storage, in a formal memo to the operator. DRMS
will also issue its written approval of the design and plan. [Please be reminded that since there are five
permits, the Division must receive written acceptance(s) that references all five permits.]
Please respond to the above items by sending two sets of response materials directly to me at the Division's
Durango field office: 691 CR 233, Room A-2, Durango, CO 81301. If there are any questions you may
send them to me at the same address.
Sincerely,
? ? 0;'t"4
4
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Steve Shuey, DRMS
James Blair, BLM Dolores
(cA10-06 docs\Sunday 5epp accept reqd/rco)
