MINE ID # / PROSPECTING ID #: M-2007-026
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: DMC
INSPECTION DATE: June 8, 2010
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) normal monitoring program. The
inspection commenced at approximately 12:00 p.m. on June 8, 2010. Jennifer Sekulski and Ryan Pawlowski, Rio Tinto Environmental
Engineers, were present during the inspection.
The Neilson Pit is located approximately 20 miles south of Craig and accessed from Highway 13, utilizing the main Colowyo access
road.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12 (Figure 1).
A minor infestation of Hoary Cress was observed near the south flank of the permit area (Figure 3). At this time noxious weeds are not
noted as a problem at this site due to the fact that weed management for this site is incorporated into the weed management plan for the
Colowyo mine. However, upon subsequent inspections should noxious weeds continue to be a problem at the site the Operator shall
implement a weed management program through a Technical Revision to DRMS permit M-2007-026 specific to the Neilson Pit.
No significant erosional features were noted on the affected areas during the inspection.
No other problems or violations were noted during the inspection.
Page 12
