"" Ll I
June 24, 2010
CONSTRUCTION, INC.
556 Struthers Avenue
ppppop,- Grand Junction, CO 81501-3826
(970) 242-5370 Fax (970) 245-7716
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, CO 80203 /
RE: M-1977-546, Horvath Pit No. 1, Technical Revision No. 2
-rQ - 07,
rE_=_ '/
JUN 2 6 Z0 'I 0
Division of Pmplw?ilew,
Mining ? gglj`,
Staff,
On behalf of the operator, Brice and Phyllis Lee, I am requesting a Technical Revision to the
post-mining land use for the above referenced pit. The revision to the post-mined land use is as
follows:
• The post-mined land use will be a gravel surfaced equipment storage site that the land
owner will utilize for their ranching operation.
• As noted in Kate Pickford's site inspection in January 17, 2006, the remaining materials
from the Horvath Pit No. 1 had been excavated and the resulting pit was backfilled by
Elam Construction. The processed material from the Horvath Pit was stockpiled within
the boundaries of the 110c permit boundary.
• With the revised post-mine land use, and information provided above, a revised
reclamation cost is provided based on the following:
o The site has been mined out with the resultant excavation backfilled as
. documented in_the DRMS_inspection of-Jan. 17, 2006.
o Once the stockpiled material is removed from the site, the only reclamation left
to be completed would be to perform finish grading of the site.
o No purchase or importing of gravel would be required to resurface the area. Any
gravel needed for surfacing would be obtained from the material currently
stockpiled onsite.
o That cost is estimated as follows:
Mobilization $ 500.00
Finish grading (1 hr @ $120.00) $ 120.00
TOTAL $ 620.00
