Box 670
Hayden, CO 81639
RE: Inspection Schedules at Seneca Coal Company Operations
Dear Mr. Karo:
COLORADO
DIVISION OF
RECLAMATION
MINING
- Sz-
SAFETY
The Division has received your request to reduce the monthly inspection frequency at the Seneca II,
Seneca II-W and Yoast Mines per Rule 5.02.2(4). Inspection frequencies can be reduced for two
reasons. The first is when a mine goes into temporary cessation under Rule 4.30.1 and the second is
when a Phase 2 bond release application has been approved per Rule 3.03.1(2)(b). Under these two
circumstances inspections can be reduced to one complete per calendar quarter.
The reference in Rule 5.02.2(4) to Section 4.30 is somewhat misleading. We will clarify that to
accurately refer to Section 4.30.1.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
?
Sandra L.
