topsoiled, and seeded, and Phase I bond release has been approved. Continuing activity during the liability period
will be limited to monitoring and maintenance. Certain modifications to the approved revegetation success
demonstration and success standards have been proposed in the application, in association. with the reduced permit
acreage proposed. Due to the reduction in permitted and disturbed acreage, and given the reclaimed and partially
bond released status of the operation, with only limited on-going maintenance activity, the Division does not
anticipate that the revision will result in any potential impacts to threatened or endangered species, or wildlife
species otherwise protected by federal law.
The revision application and the currently approved permit application can both be viewed on laser fiche on the
DRMS website (http://www.mining.state.co.us/ImagedDocuments.htm). The revised maps and narrative can be
found in the revision index class, while the currently approved narrative and map are in the permit file index class.
To access the revision materials, click on the class, then scroll down to the type and sequence and enter "PR2".
The Division will coordinate during the review period with the Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) and the
Office of Surface Mining (OSM), to ensure that potential impacts to threatened and endangered species, and
wildlife species otherwise protected by federal law have been properly addressed.
The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete.
At the time of publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at
the Hayden Public Library, 201 E. Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, CO 81639-1813, and at the Division office. To
provide written comments, or request an informal conference, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567, within thirty (30) days after
the last public notice in the Steamboat Pilot.
If you have any questions regarding the application, please contact me in Grand Junction at (970) 242-5025. If you
have questions regarding viewing the documents on laser fiche, please contact Johanna Cramer at the Division's
Denver office, (303) 866-3567x8114.
Sincerely,
Daniel T.
