Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on June 24, 2010, an application to revise coal mining operations at the <br />Seneca II-W Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company, <br />LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This technical revision application proposes changes and clarifications to the woody plant density standard for the Seneca II-W <br />mine, including proposed standards for aspen reestablishment in specified locations. <br />The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden, Colorado. The permit area is <br />further described as follows: <br />T5N, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 <br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Hayden Gulch, Dunckley, & Mt. <br />Harris. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Hayden Public Library, 201 E. Jefferson Avenue, <br />Hayden, CO 81639-1813, and at the Division offices in Denver and Grand Junction.
