(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1978-002
INSPECTION DATE: 06/10/2010 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: THM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division
of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The Texas Pit is located approximately 22 miles south of Rangely,
Colorado off of Rio Blanco County Road 111. The site is a 110c operation. Stan Rasmussen and Clint Chappell
both representing Rio Blanco County were present during the inspection.
The mine identification sign and the affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with rule
3.1.12. The sign is located on a post at the main entrance of the gravel mine. The permit boundaries are
comprised of fence posts and fence lines that are easily identifiable around the entire perimeter of the mine.
Evidence of recent mining activity was observed within the permit area. Overall the site appeared to be in good
operating condition and no unnecessary trash or debris was observed within the permit boundary. The site is
only 3.2 acres and is near the end of the mining phase. The operator stated that the B.L.M. is planning a road
improvement project that will likely deplete the site of the rest of the usable construction material resource.
No evidence of erosion or off site damage was observed during the inspection.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
No problems or violations were noted or observed during the June 10, 2010 inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Travis Marshall at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone no. 970-241-2042.
I & E Contact Address cc:
NAME: David P.
