Box 219 <br />Nuclo, Colorado 81424 Nucla, Colorado 81424 <br />RE: Reclamation Phase 1 & 2 Bond Release Notification for Areas East of 2700 Rd. <br />Telephone 970/864-2165 To Whom it May Concern, <br />Fax 970/864-2168 <br />Western Fuels Colorado, is applying for a Phase 1 and 2 bond release for part of its reclaimed New <br />Horizon #2 Mine located 1 mile west of Nucla, Colorado. As required by Colorado law, whenever any <br />part of any coal mine bond is to be released, all interested parties must be notified. This letter is to notify <br />you that Western Fuels-Colorado is requesting partial release of the current bond amount for successful <br />Phase 1 and 2 reclamation of the New Horizon #2 Mine. The permit number is C-81-008, which was <br />initially approved in 1981. All mine areas were backfilled, graded, topsoiled and reseeded according to <br />the approved reclamation plan. The phase3 bond release that deals with vegetation production standards <br />and the ten year minimum time clock has yet to be applied for. The requested bond reduction amount is <br />to be calculated by the Division of Reclamation, Mining, & Safety. <br />The general description of the property to be released is as follows: <br />T47N R16W - SECTION 36 - E1/2 E1/2 SEl/4 <br />T47N R15W - SECTION 31 - SW1/4 <br />T46N R16W - SECTION 1 - El/2 NE1/4 NEl/4 <br />T46N R15W - SECTION 6 - N1/2 <br />The parcel of land in question is located on the U.S.G.S. A copy will also be placed on file at the Montrose County <br />extension office in Nucla.
