K?
r Notice of Intent to Explore
Lorencito Bulk Coal Sample
MGP Mineral Enterprises LLLP
June 17, 2010
which is developing and producing coal bed methane in the area. If any of the
endangered or threatened species are observed during the drilling, drilling will be
stopped to minimize any impact on the specie.
Also, the permit application file contained a statement that "No sensitive species of
plants were observed during the field investigation of the property. Little suitable
habitat occurs within the permit area for Smith Whitlow-grass (Draba smithii),
Colorado green gentian (Frasera coloradensis), and sandhill goosefoot (Chenopodium
cycloides). Therefore, the proposed project is not expected to directly adversely affect
any individual or populations of these sensitive plants and is not likely to result in a
downward trend toward federal listing." Additionally, the drill holes will be located
on areas that are already disturbed by the construction and maintenance of the roads in
the area. If any of the species of plants listed above are observed, care will be taken to
ensure that the plant and the area around the plant is not disturbed.
Page 3
