In
an effort to reflect internal data systems, the Forest Service requests that the West Elk Mine
simplify the number/name associated with monitored USFS water resources. In the past the
West Elk Mine has used 3 different naming conventions for resources such as stock-ponds on
Forest Service lands, which has made it difficult to track.
The attached spreadsheet shows the current list of pond resources MCC is currently monitoring,
and their associated name(s). It is our wish to only utilize the "P-X" number naming convention
wherever possible. This change should be carried forward and reflected in their Annual
Hydrology Report, Annual Water Resources Survey, as well as Map 37 of MCC's Mine Permit.
If you have any questions or comments please contact Ryan Taylor of my staff at 970-527-4131,
or via email at rztaylorgfs.fed.us .
Sincerely,
_1?? 4??Iw
hO-/ LEVI K.
