§2.10 MAPS AND PLANS
2.10.1 General Requirements.
(1) Colorado Westmoreland Inc. requests the Division approve maps of the permit area be at a scale of
1:12,000. Due to the size of the permit area, CWI feels this map scale provides enough detail in
manageable format for review.
(2) Life of operation maps clearly depict lands and waters at a scale of 1:12,000 or larger.
(3) Where appropriate, all maps depict lands and waters at a scale of 1:12,000 or larger.
2.10.2 Permit and Adjacent Areas.
In 2010, as part of PR-4, Bowie No.1 will transfer Z379 acres from their permit boundary to the Bowie No.
2 mine. In addition, Bowie No. 1 agrees that a portion of three Federal Coal Leases will be transferred to
the Bowie No.2 Mine. This additional permit area and the Federal Coal Leases will be incorporated into
the Bowie No. 2 permit, and will encompass some of the old workings developed from the Bowie No. 1
mine. The Bowie No. 2 Mine has agreed to assume any and all of the liability associated with the old
workings that are encompassed by the Bowie No. 2 Mine permit boundary. The revised permit boundary
has not been updated on all of the permit maps. The revised permit boundary is shown on Maps 4-1 and
9-2.
(1) Refer to Maps 2-4, 2-5, and 8A-8.
(2) Refer to Maps 2-4, 2-5, and 8A-8.
(a) Refer to Maps 2-4, 2-5, and 8A-8.
(b) CWI has not obtained a small operator's license.
(3) Refer to Maps 2-4, 2-5, and 8A-8.
(4) Refer to Maps 2-4, 2-5, and 8A-8.
2.10.3 Specific Information Requirements.
(1) (a) Map 9-2 depicts surface ownership on record at the Delta County Recorder's Office. Map 9-5
depicts mineral ownership and Federal lease numbers.
(b) Maps 9-2 and 9-5 depict Colorado Westmoreland Inc.'s legal rights to enter and conduct
surface and underground activities.
(c) The boundaries of life-of-mine surface facilities are shown on Map 8A-8. Map 2-5 depicts long-
term mine projections which will be submitted as permit renewals in five-year segments (refer to
Map 2-5). Colorado Westmoreland Inc. is submitting environmental baseline data for the entire
life-of-mine permit area. Variations or deviations from the five-year term permit area, necessitated
by market or mining conditions, will be approved by the Division's permit revision process.
PR-4 1 06/10
