d) Wildlife
No significant amount of wildlife has been encountered during any of the
visits to the site. Normal species appearing at the site could be coyotes,
rabbits, skunks, badgers, and pheasants. There are no known threatened or
endangered species.
EXHIBIT C - Mining Plan
a) The mining is expected to begin as soon as possible after a permit is obtained.
The operation will provide material for concrete plants in the area. It may
also provide some material for road construction or landscaping. Anticipated
life of the pit is four years.
b) The mining plan is to begin removal of the material beginning at the east side
of the pit area and proceed westward. Excavation will continue as the need
for material continues and, as the supply remains available. There is currently
no topsoil in the creek bed itself. There is topsoil in the areas outside the
creek bed which is 0-5" in depth. The area lying outside of the creek bed will
have the topsoil stripped and stockpiled for re-application during reclamation.
The bank along the creek will also be stripped and stockpiled for later use in
re-vegetation. Any topsoil stockpile will be seeded with brome grass to
prevent soil erosion.
c) There would appear to be no waste rock or material at the site.
d) Mining is anticipated to a depth of 10 feet inside the creek bed and up to 20'
depth in the area outside the creek. The mining plan is to begin at the east end
of the pit and proceed west. No slopes will be left greater than 3:1.
e) The pit will be accessed from an existing trail which begins at Co. Rd. 11.
There will be no shop, plant, or other facilities located at the mine site. The
equipment used to mine the gravel will be a front-end loader, large track hoe,
dozer, and trucks. Some stockpiling of material may be done at the site, but
most of the material will be utilized as it is mined. Any stockpiling that does
occur will be placed in line with the drainage flow line that runs through the
area and along the north edge of the pit. The anticipated stockpile area is
shown on the mining plan. Some processing of material could occur at the
site. If sorting occurs a screen would be utilized.
f) There are no existing disturbances to describe at the site.
