Area 30 was reseeded in 2006 and Reclamation Area 29 was reseeded in 2003. Is this
Table 3 data meant to represent data from Area 30 or Area 29? Please provide a corrected Table 3 for the
record.
Regarding the Sedimentology Evaluation, please revise the USLE analysis by removing the A-A' transect
from the adjacent undisturbed areas because this area is no longer undisturbed. Please recalculate the
length slope factor (LS) values in the USLE analysis. In particular, the LS value of 5.229 for the
undisturbed areas is much higher than it should be, based, on the slope-effect chart in Technical Release
51 (USDA-SCS, 1977), a commonly cited reference for USLE analysis.
Sincerely,
Robert Zuber, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
(303) 866-3567, ext. 8113
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
