_- ~
_ '-
_ - - J
f"
January ~_, 1982
Mined Land Reclamation Division
Department of Natural Resources
State of Colorado
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80202
Mr. Thomas N. Hansen
National King Coal, Inc.
P. O. Box 2905
Durango, Colorado 81301
Dear Sirs:
I am the owner of the surface of the land on which is
located the access road from La Plata County Road 120 to the
surface facilities of the King Coal Mine, operated by National
King Coal, Inc. This road is located generally in Sections 29,
30, and 32, Township 35 North, Range I1 West, New Mexico
Principal Meridian.
I have used this road for many years for access to my
nearby grazing lands and wish to continue to use it for that
purpose. My use of the road, both past and future, has been
- and will be unrelated to operation of the King Coal Mine.
Therefore, when the King Coal Mine operation is
completed, I wish for the access road to remain intact and not
to be reclaimed. I understand that the government reclamation
authorities will approve a reclamation plan for the King Coal
Mine which calls for leaving the access road in place upon the
request I made above as owner of the land surface. If plans
are considered in the future to remove the access road, please
take notice that no such action should be taken without my
approval.
Very truly yours,
_/ '
wrence Huntingto-
8796 County Road 120
Hesperas, Colorado 81326
November 2993
