Underground works will originate from the portal area and are planned <br />to progress towards the north and west in a logical progression. <br />Initially, the underground mining will be in development work only as <br />the main and submain entries are established into the reserve area. <br />Development will continue until areas of the reserve are accessible to <br />mine panels for pillar extraction. Mining panels will typically be <br />designed to terminate at property boundaries, thin or unmerchantable <br />coal, or other geologic constraints. Lands to be affected by <br />underground mining over the life of the operation are shown on <br />Map 7.
