• SECTION 7.0 Miscellaneous <br />7.1 Vegetation Monitoring on Trapper Reclaimed Lands <br />Baseline vegetation monitoring on 406 acres of reclaimed Trapper rangelands in Ashmore, Derringer, <br />Enfield, Flintlock, and East Flintlock (Z) pits that had been initially topsoiled and seeded between <br />1999 and 2008 was accomplished during the 2009 field season. A total of 102 fifty -meter transects <br />were monitored. Vegetation parameters sampled during 2009 included ground cover, species <br />composition and woody stem density. <br />Vegetation monitoring planned for 2010 will include, 1) baseline sampling of new reclaimed areas and <br />selected older reclaimed areas, 2) Phase II bond release sampling on 174 acres of lands reclaimed <br />between 2005 and 2006 in Ashmore, East Flintlock (Z) and Flintlock pits and 3) the first of two years <br />of vegetation sampling on 370 acres of rangelands reclaimed between 1999 and 2001 in Ashmore, <br />Derringer and Flintlock pits that will be part of an application for final (Phase III) bond release in 2010. <br />7.2 Grazing of Reclaimed Lands <br />No cattle grazing occurred on Trapper non final bond- released reclaimed lands during 2009, nor is <br />any planned for 2010. <br />7.3 2009 Revegetation Seed Mixes <br />Section 3.6.3.5 of Trapper's Mining and Reclamation permit requires the Division be notified of the <br />seed mixtures proposed to be used each year. Tables 7 -1 through 7 -4 give the 2010 proposed <br />mixtures. <br />Required seed packing slips are attached behind Table 7 -4 for shipments received in 2009. <br />7.4 Trapper Mine Facilities <br />In 2009, Existing Trapper Mine facilities were not significantly changed during the reporting year. <br />However, construction was completed on a storage building for blasting vehicles below East Flintlock <br />Dip pit in the eastern portion of the mine. Adjoining this building site, construction began on a fueling <br />and parking area for large equipment operating in the eastern extents of the site. Site preparation <br />also began on an expansion of the main shop, scheduled to be completed midyear 2010. Power <br />distribution line was extended in Flintlock and East Flintlock Pit for pit advancement and substation <br />locations for the Molly Brown and Baby Doe draglines. <br />FVL, GCR 3110 <br />(DRMS\09VEGteA7 -0] <br />• <br />
