CI
0
•
2.05.3
TR -27
A PPP,6Kb 2/2-Jo3
1 j Haul Road - State Highway 133 to Portal Level
General
This haul road handles the small amount of the coal hauled from the site and
is approximately 9500 -feet long. Coal haul trucks enter the property and
proceed to the portal level. The trucks are loaded by a front end loader and
return to old State Highway 133. The drainage from the majority of this road
is routed to sediment Pond B and C. Alternative sediment control is utilized
for the first 100 to 150 feet of the haul road. The upper 2,500 feet of this
road will be utilized to haul coal from the B -Seam bench up to the D -Seam
bench.
The combination of paving, dust control, sediment control on the majority of
the road and utilization of alternative sediment control on the remainder of
the road will assure that erosion, siltation, pollution of air or water, and
damage to public property will be controlled. These controls will also assure
that no damage to fish and wildlife or other related environmental values will
occur.
This road is the main access to the mine facilities so employees, contractors,
vendors, supply vehicles and visitors will utilize this road. This road will also
be utilized to haul gob from the portal bench to the gob pile. The truck traffic
which will utilize this haul road segment will be 10 and 18 wheel trucks. This
road has two 12 -foot lanes with curve widening on curves with a radius of
less than 180 -feet. A 24 -foot wide paved road surface with curve widening
should be adequate for the intended traffic.
2.05 - 19ii - 6103
