2
Valley Fill #1 is filled in as shown on Map C-213 and has not had any slope stability issues.
Exhibit D. Minina Plan
A minimum depth of 1 foot of aggregate is left on top of the shale to allow for drainage after
reclamation as well as for keeping a good working surface during mining. The depth of
overburden that is going to be replaced as part of reclamation will vary depending on
location. In the In Mining Area 1 and 3 a center pivot field will be restored and the depth of
overburden to be replace will be as much as 55'. This wedge of overburden will be deeper in
the west and will taper out to approximately 6". The minimum depth of overburden will be
approximately 6" to allow for a subsoil growth medium.
Cugnini Well # 2 delivers water to a horse head within the affected land through a pipe laid
on the surface. No disturbance is associated with this pipe and it will be removed after
mining.
The Isolation berms containing on site stormwater to the affected land are 3 feet tall with 1
foot wide flat tops. The slopes are 1.511:1 V. The base width is 10 feet wide. The isolation
berms are installed at the base of the slope where the natural ground levels out. The lower
berms will be compacted to prevent failure.
There are no permanent concrete footings associated with the Hot Mix Asphalt plant. As a
portable plant, the components are set on precast concrete blocks or slabs placed on grade.
These blocks and slabs will be removed and transported with the plant when it relocated in
the future. The following are dimensions of existing concrete structures cast in place at the
Cugnini Facility:
Truck scale ramp wing walls- 4 each @ 22'x 1'x 3.5'
Truck scale bulk heads- 2 each @ 9'xl'x 2'
Transformer pad- 8'x6'x 0.7'
(Approximately 14 cy)
The applicant/ operator is not aware of any other concrete structures at this facility that
would have to be excavated and removed during reclamation.
Exhibit E, Reclamation Plan
The minimum Depth of overburden to be replaced is 6". The minimum depth of topsoil to be
replaced is 6".
Topsoil is salvaged from the operation and stockpiled to be used during reclamation. These
stockpiles are seeded to prevent topsoil erosion. Fines will only be used as a subsoil to obtain
