6. Vegetation
In the affected area and on the fringes of the affected area there are sub-alpine spruce/fir forests as well
as substantial areas of bare rock. The original condition of most of the affected area near the quarry
portals was bare rock, as documented in photos dated 1911. Approximate vegetation zones can be seen
on Map C-1. See picture below for the area around the quarry.
