6. Vegetation <br />In the affected area and on the fringes of the affected area there are sub-alpine spruce/fir forests as well <br />as substantial areas of bare rock. The original condition of most of the affected area near the quarry <br />portals was bare rock, as documented in photos dated 1911. Approximate vegetation zones can be seen <br />on Map C-1.
