contains the deficiencies described below. As a result of these findings., and to correct the
deficiencies, the Division requests that the permittee submit revised permit pages in a Revision by
August 31, 2010. The corrections are necessary to ensure compliance with Section 2.03.3(1) of the
Regulations, which requires that information in Division permits be current.
The Division identified discrepancies related to language that requires updating. For example, in
Section 2.7.3 (page 2-392) the list of active mining areas should be updated t:o exclude areas that
are not being mined (e.g., the Colt Pit) and to include areas that are active (e.g., the Flintlock Pit).
The profiles in this section should also be revised accordingly. Another example is the use of text
such as "to the present" when the "present" was 1987 (page 2-392 should be revised to correct this
error).
During review of the Trapper Mine permit application, the following editorial problems and
questions were detected. Some of these problems may indicate a more substantive problem
with the application than just the minor editorial problem. For example, orphaned text (where
a paragraph ends without punctuation and/or it does not match the next page of text) could be a
symptom of a significant amount of text being inadvertently deleted. Revisions should be
made to the binders to correct these errors. The relevant text, tables, figures, and maps should
be reviewed to verify that the editorial problem is not related to a more substantive problem.
Errors with Pages (extra pages missing pages, pages out-of-order, orphaned text
• Section v is missing. (There is a Section iv and a Section vi but no v.)
• Page 2-23 - copy was cut off and tilted.
• Page 2-163 - there are two copies of this page.
• Page 2-164 - text is orphaned.
• Pages 2-591a and 2-591b are missing.
• Page 3-27a - there are two pages with this number.
• After page 3-27d there are two figures without figure numbers.
• Page 3-46 - text is orphaned.
• After page 3-68 there is a figure without a number.
• Pages 3-149a, g, h, i - tables should be deleted or incorporated into report.
• After page 3-175 there are four road profiles with no figure numbers or text reference.
• There are two extra pages after page 4-190a.
• Page 4-216 is missing.
• Tables 4.8-8a and 4.8-8b are out of order.
• Pages 4-241 b, 4-241 c, and 4-241 d are not referenced in TOC or text.
• Page 4-255b (Table 4.9-2-1) is not referenced in TOC or text.
• There is an extra page after page 4-256.
• Page 4-259 is missing.
Errors with references in the Table of Contents (TOC)
General - table and figure titles should match TOC.
Page iv-4 - two copies of page.
Trapper Midterm 2010 Findings.REV 3.docx Page 6
