• <br />Skylick Typical Sample "CC -2" Site and Soil Profile Description: Skylick loam in Map Unit <br />66D was fully described and sampled at one representative site, CC -2, located in a portion <br />of the SW1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 34, T.6N., R.87W. The sample site is on a sloping <br />ridge upper sideslope within the potential waste rock storage site outside of but adjacent to <br />the current Seneca II Mine permit area. Sample site CC -2 has 12% slope; NE aspect; big <br />sagebrush, mountain shrub species, and tall mixed grass and forb vegetation; slopewash <br />alluvium over residuum at depth; stable surface with no erosion in the vicinity of the sample <br />site location. <br />Al horizon — 0 to 5 inches; dark brown (10YR 4/3) sandy loam to loam with 2% sandstone <br />channers, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; moderate coarse and medium granular structure; <br />soft, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic consistence; common medium, fine, and very <br />fine, and few coarse roots; noneffervescent; from lab data: pH =6.0 (moderately acid), <br />EC =0.2 (nonsaline), SAR =0.3 (nonsodic), OM =5.6 %; gradual smooth boundary. <br />A2 horizon — 5 to 16 inches; dark brown (10YR 4/3) sandy loam to loam with 2% small <br />gravel -size sandstone chips, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; moderate coarse and medium <br />granular structure grading to moderate medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard, <br />friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic consistence; common medium, fine, very fine, and <br />few coarse roots; noneffervescent; from lab data: pH =6.1 (slightly acid), EC =0.1 <br />(nonsaline), SAR =0.5 (nonsodic), OM =1.5 %; gradual wavy boundary. <br />• Bt1 horizon — 16 to 27 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) clay loam with 2% small gravel - <br />size sandstone chips, dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4 moist); moderate medium <br />subangular blocky structure; slightly hard to hard, friable to firm, sticky and plastic <br />consistence; few medium, coarse, fine, and very fine roots; noneffervescent; from lab data: <br />pH =5.9 (moderately acid), EC =0.1 (nonsaline), SAR =0.3 (nonsodic), OM =0.8 %; gradual <br />wavy boundary. <br />Bt2 horizon — 27 to 40 inches; light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) clay loam, dark yellowish <br />brown (10YR 4/4) moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; hard, firm, sticky <br />and plastic consistence; noneffervescent; from lab data: pH =5.9 (moderately acid), EC =0.1 <br />(nonsaline), SAR =0.5 (nonsodic), OM =0.8 %; gradual wavy boundary. <br />C1 horizon — 40 to 62 inches; light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) clay loam, yellowish brown <br />(10YR 5/4) moist; massive structure; hard, firm, sticky and plastic consistence; <br />noneffervescent; from lab data: pH =6.3 (slightly acid), EC =0.1 (nonsaline), SAR =0.5 <br />(nonsodic), OM =0.5 %; gradual wavy boundary. <br />C2 horizon — 62 to 76 inches; brownish yellow (10YR 6/6) sandy clay loam, dark yellowish <br />brown (10YR 4/6) moist; massive structure; hard, friable, sticky and slightly plastic <br />consistence; noneffervescent; from lab data: pH =6.4 (slightly acid), EC =0.1 ( nonsaline), <br />SAR =1.1 (nonsodic), OM =0.4 %; gradual wavy boundary. <br />• 14 <br />
