Comments in Section IV describe any enforcement actions
taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
North Thompson Creek C-81-025
17 May 2010

Page 2/2/2
Hydrologic Balance (coat.): - The Refuse Pile Pond is a permanent Pond. The pond is a part of the
developed water resource and is currently receiving discharge water from treatment pond T2. Based
on the small volume of water in the pond it appears as though the water was routed to the pond earlier
in the day or over the weekend. As stated above, Minrec will monitor the Refuse Pile Pond to ensure
that no water discharges from the pond, as it is not an permitted NPDES discharge point. The pond
embankment was well vegetated and stable and no erosional problems were noted on the embankment
at the time of the inspection. **See pictures at the end of this report.**
Revegetation/Reclamation Success: - The mine site is well vegetated and stable. The backfilled
facilities areas and the backfilled portal areas remain stable. There is no settling or cracking in the
backfill and no erosional problems were noted at the time of the inspection. As stated in the
introduction, with the approval of Partial Phase IIl Bond Release SL-06, the remaining disturbance is
now limited to the developed water resource, which is 4.11 acres.
This concludes the 17 May 2010 inspection of the North Thompson Creek Mine.
