This is true
for Ditch 1 leading to Sump 1.
Additional Sediment Control Measures
There is an area of fines on a steep slope on the very north edge of the permit area. This area has had
some sediment delivery to the stream below in the past. The slope is approximately 1.411:1 V and does
not contain vegetation. Map C-2 shows that this area will receive special attention through the
application of an organic compost material or topsoil to aid vegetation growth, which is to be applied to
the area and mixed with the existing granular material at a rate of 50 lbs per square yard. Then the
prescribed reclamation seed mix will be applied with fertilizer. This seed mix has been very successful
at a limestone quarry reclamation project with little topsoil, not far from this location. Finally, a
permanent polymer matting will be fastened to the surface, which will not only itself prevent erosion,
but it will also allow the vegetation to come up through the mat, further anchoring and stabilizing the
slope. The specifications on the mat are shown on the following 4 pages.
Yule Quarry April 10 27
7 7
