The response also includes adjustments
requested by DRMS staff from a field visit on May 21, 2010. Those adjustments include:
• The maps have been clarified to show no property not owned or controlled by CSQ is being
included in the proposed amendment.
• The map adjustments note minor adjustments to boundaries to cover existing structures and
proposed permit acreage not reflected correctly in first maps.
• Conceptual designs of the stormwater control system have been refined.
• Stormwater control structures have been added to the map at the storage area.
The review of the information submitted notes a few final issues. Please clarify or correct the following:
1) DRMS notes that Gunnison County and CSQ have worked together to address the closure of the
trail crossing the permit area for safety reasons. Please provide documentation to support the
closure agreement of the trail for safety reasons between the County and the operator.
2) While not required, DRMS is requesting that CSQ place in their blasting plan notification of the
adjacent landowner a minimum of four (4) hours prior to any surface blasting. The notification
required should be by personal contact to ensure if the landowners are present they are aware
of the nearby activities. If the adjacent landowners are not present, no further notice will be
required and CSQ can proceed as required.
