ame
May 17, 2010
Mr. Timm Comer
Manager, Environmental Resources
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Co.
P.O. Box 191
100 North Third Street
Victor, CO 80860
Re: TR 59 Drawings
Dear Timm:
Enclosed, please find eight (8) wet stamped drawings to be included in the Technical Revision (TR) 59
submittal. The wet stamp drawings are for the Phase 4 B/C Triangle Project and the LOB Pad. The Phase
4 B/C Triangle Project drawing shows the limits and liner details for the area to be lined. The LOB Pad
drawing shows the extent of the proposed lined area within the existing LOB area.
Note that the liner to be used for the LOB Pad is an 80 mil Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
combined with a bentonite backing (GSE Gundseal or equivalent). The liner is to be installed on
compacted fill per the grades shown on the drawing. For surface preparation:
"CONTRACTOR shall roll the surface of the Fill with a smooth drum roller to remove ridges and surface
irregularities greater than 0.5 inches in height. CERTIFYING ENGINEER shall determine if surface
preparation is sufficient to place geomembrane. On areas with slopes steeper than 3H:1 V,
CONTRACTOR shall adopt methods as necessary to obtain the same final surface preparations that
would be obtained by the passage of a smooth-drum roller on flat or level ground. Pushing of compaction
equipment by tracked equipment shall not be performed. Wheel ruts on the surface of the Fill from
grading equipment shall be repaired by CONTRACTOR prior to placement of the geomembrane by rolling
the surface as approved by CQA Monitor'
The geomembrane liner shall be installed and welded in compliance with Specification 2776, as
presented in Amendment No. 9.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at (303) 433-0262.
Sincerely,
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc.
n F.
