I d
Response to Comments by Susan M. Collins on the Lyons Pit No. 2, File No. M-1980-
248 (AM02)
Submitted by Marvin Moore.,(Consultant for the Moffat County Commissioners)
Dustin:
Thanks for sending the State Historic Preservation Officer's comments on the above
referenced Lyons Pit Amendment.
I am a private contractor, and the records in your office will show that I have been doing
the County's Mined Land Reclamation permits for 22 years. By personal experience, I
know that the crusher crew (and their foremen and directors) are all well experienced
operators with knowledge of the importance of reporting the discovery of human remains
under CRS 24-80 part 13. In addition, Moffat County has 7 pits on the BLM, which are in
the State Historic Preservation Officer's jurisdiction under the National Historic
Preservation Act. Moffat County includes awareness and the importance of cultural
resources in their safety meetings, and they frequently post cultural resource bulletins on
the office bill board.
I hope this letter satisfies any concern over Moffat County's reporting requirements under
CRS 24-80 part 13.
Marvin Moore ?-
1570 Ranney St.
Craig, CO 81625
(970) 824-9249
'C V D
1 JUN 0 ZQ1Q
C sin of Rt?d rr on,
MWV 2-:,d Stfb-ty
