DENISON. MINES (USA) CORP.
2010 ANNUAL REPORT
Sunday Mine - M-1977-285
The Sunday Mines resumed operations in May 2007. As of the date of this report, approximately 76 tons
of ore were produced from the Sunday Mine and shipped to Denison's White Mesa Mill, located near
Blanding, Utah. The Sunday Mine was placed on temporary cessation status on November 30, 2009. A
notice of temporary cessation status was dated May 22, 2010 and was provided to the Division.
In March of 2008, the Division provided notification to Denison Mines that the Sunday Mine is a
Designated Mining Operation. Denison initiated characterization of the waste rock and ore as a result of
this notification. In July and September, work plans for waste rock and groundwater analysis were
provided and approved by the Division. In August of this year, Denison conducted ore and waste rock
characterization sampling at the Sunday Mine. A summary report of this analysis was provided to the
Division in January of 2009. In December 2008 and January of 2009 groundwater sampling wells were
installed and groundwater samples were collected from the underground workings. A proposed
Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) was completed in May of 2009, and the Division provided Denison
comments in August of 2009 and again in January of 2010. These comments have been addressed and a
revised EPP has been submitted to the Division as of the date of this report.
This EPP includes the results of the material characterization, drainage report, surface water, and partial
ground water evaluations.
Exploration drilling occurred in the spring and summer of 2009 in the area of the Sunday Mines Group
and a total of 59 exploration drill holes were completed, closed, and reclaimed. Additional seeding may
be required in the fall of 2010; however, vegetation will be observed at that time to determine the success
of reclamation.
A Weed Management Plan consistent with the requirements of San Miguel County and the Department of
the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was prepared for all of the Sunday Mines and approved
by the BLM in April of 2009. Denison is coordinating weed management activities with San Miguel
County for May of 2010. Reports on the weed management conducted will be provided to the Division
upon completion.
All work completed at the Sunday Mine in 2009 has been completed in conformance with approved
Division Mine Permits and Plans of Operation with the BLM.
No changes occurred in the Permit M-1977-285 area during the past year. Routine stormwater
inspections are ongoing as required by Denison's stormwater discharge permit with the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). This routine maintenance was documented and
reported to CDPHE in the annual reporting required by the Colorado Discharge Permit held by Denison.
Updated mapping for the Sunday Mine was provided with the EPP submittal, and no changes have
occurred at the sites since that time.
