A few days after your
inspection on March 22, 2010, we deployed a backhoe to the site and excavated a
temporary diversion ditch and placed an earthen berm around the retention pond. This
was done to prevent any additional snowmelt or stormwater from draining into the pond.
Reviewing older aerial photographs of the site, it appears the existing pond was
excavated in an un-compacted fill area. It is our intent to excavate a new retention pond
northwest of the old one where we have determined the ground to be far more stable.
Further, the new pond will be located farther away from the top of the valley slope.
Some degree of regrading will be done to provide for drainage into the new pond. once
the pond and adequate drainage are in place, we plan to excavate, re-slope, compact, and
stabilize the area below the old pond..
We will be prepared to complete this corrective action in the next few weeks. Please
contact me should you have questions or concerns.
Sincerely, RECEVID
MAY 2
? 200
Matt R.
