The other owners of our property <br />have received and read a copy of the information you sent me. <br />We understand that DRMS sets the standards that Western Fuel must follow and DRMS is concerned that you <br />have designated areas as irrigated pasture in the past that do not have enough water to continue this level of <br />irrigation after bond release. However, you have stated in your letter, dated April 22, 2010 and DRMS officials <br />stated at the meeting in Nucla on February 18, 2010, that after bond release they have no authority or concern <br />on how the land is used. At least that is what I understood from their answer to questions from Mike Morgan. <br />We do not understand why this change is being made after mining this area west of Nucla since 1994, and all <br />the land, except the last three or four farms, being reclaimed under the original standards? Have all the others <br />been successfully reclaimed under the original standards or was there an error made in the calculations right <br />from the start on how much water was needed for irrigation? <br />Thank you for the reclaiming our land to a flatter, smoother condition than it was before it was mined. This <br />should make it easier to irrigate.
