This pit
is mined out and used for stockpiling and storage for the Glen Pit and the Dick Casey Pit
that are both owned by United. This location continues to be the headquarters for
United's Rifle operations. Chambers is treated for weeds at least twice a year. United is
continuing to look into the Wildlife Habitat Council site requirements. This is a
voluntary program by which the owner can go beyond standard reclamation requirements
to enhance the area for plants and wildlife. The map of this pit has remained unchanged
from the prior report period.
I apologize for the late report. There was a miscommunication in our Grand Junction
office where the annual fee was mailed directly to the DRMS instead of being sent to me
so I could include it with the annual report. A copy of the paid invoice is included with
the annual report.
Sincerely,
Peter M. Kearl
Resource/Environmental Manager
