RESPONSE: Page 2 in Exhibit D has been revised to indicate the maximum length of the highwall
measured from the center of each 3:1 side slopes on the north and south limits of the excavation
limits. The side slopes will be mined at: 3H:1 V. A typical cross section depicting the configuration
of the high wall mine face has been added to Sheet 3, Exhibit C.
5) Once mining moves from Phase I into Phase II, what portion of Phase I and Phase II will
be disturbed? Also, please speck the maximum proposed disturbance in acres. This
information is required to accurately calculate a reclamation cost estimate.
The response submitted states that 10 acres is the proposed maximum disturbance. Will the
existing 9.9 acres of disturbance be completely reclaimed and revegetated prior to moving into
Phase II?
RESPONSE: The maximum disturbance will be 19.9 acres. This includes Phase I and Phase H. It
should be pointed out that reclamation activity in part of Phase I will occur at the same time as the
mining efforts in Phase II.
In addition to the Huddleston-Berry response to Mr. Allen Sorenson's Geotechnical Exhibit Review
the following revisions have been made:
1. The overburden stockpiles along the south boundary of the mining area have been
eliminated on Sheet 2, Exhibit C.
2. References to the underlying "stony clay loam" stratum have been eliminated in Exhibits C,
D and F.
If you have any questions or require any additional information do not hesitate to contact me.
Respectfully,
Tom g ge
xc: Leon Moores
