WATER INFORMATION EXHIBIT G
This operation is not expected to directly affect the surface or ground water
systems at this site. The Parshall Pit is located approximately 0.36 miles east of
and approximately 230 feet higher than Williams Fork Reservoir on a terrace
deposit of gravel. We have been operating in this Parshall Pit since 1998 and have
not encountered any groundwater in this area.
We have changed our water right for the Dawson Gulch Spring from
livestock use to commercial use. We have an absolute water right and an
' augmentation plan has been acquired. We will use this spring water for washing
material and dust control if needed in the Parshall Pit. In perfecting this water
right we have also implemented an Augmentation Plan with the Colorado River
District. We have acquired 5 acre feet of water in the Wolford Mountain
Reservoir for replacement water in case of a call on the Colorado River. We
believe we will be in compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations
governing water and water rights.
Review of well data on the surrounding areas indicates the water table is
more than 250 feet below the existing ground surface in this area. We do not
' expect to encounter ground water on this site because its floor elevation will be
60 to 80 feet lower than the existing ground elevations.
There are no other water structures on this site. There are no wetlands on
' this site. The pit will be graded so that all surface water runoff is retained on the
site and all offsite runoff is diverted around the property. We have a storm water
management plan designed by Kevin with 1VA Engineering.
Mining will not reach the ground water table since mining will be into the
hillside and above the closest water body level. No ground water will be exposed
so no surface or subsurface water will be impacted by this mining operation.
We estimate dust control for various parts of the operation (roads,
' crushing, washing, etc.) will use 5 acre feet of water per year. Water used for
processing operations will be pumped up to our site from -the Dawson Gulch
Spring water right we have changed to commercial use. No water will be used for
reclamation, nor will the revegetated areas be irrigated.
?
10
