PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Minrec, Inc., 2024 E 3/4 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81503 has submitted a complete <br />application for a technical revision to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its <br />North Thompson Creek Mines, mining permit no. C-1981-025. On January 25, 2010 the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's decision on Minrec's bond release application <br />number 6 became final. The bond release held Minrec responsible for the developed water <br />resources area and the underground mine workings. Minrec was granted release from all <br />of the other areas associated with the North Thompson Creek Mines including the <br />reclaimed loadout area. This technical revision application will amended the permit <br />boundary to incorporate the changes and deletions approved by bond release application <br />number 6. <br />The amended permit area consists of the lands located in Sections 27, 28, and 35, T. 8 S., <br />R. 89 W., 6th P.M. and Sections 2 and 3 T. 9 S., R. 89 W., 6th P.M. more fully described <br />below. The surface of the mine permit area is owned by the North Thompson-Four Mile <br />Mineral and Land Corporation (portions of sections 27, 34 and 35 T8S), the Crystal River <br />Ranch Company (portions sections 2 and 3 T9S, and sections 34 and 35 TBS, and the U. <br />S. Forest Service (portion of section 27 T8S). <br />The mine permit area is located approximately 9.5 miles from the bridge across the Crystal <br />River up County Road 108, (North Thompson Creek Road). The permit area can be <br />located on the U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute Stony Ridge, CO quadrangle map. The total permit <br />area encompasses 1086 acres of which 20 acres are on federal land. <br />Township 8 South. Ranae 89 West. 6th P.M. <br />Section 27: S/2SE/4SW/4, W/2SE/4, W/2E/2SE/4 <br />Section 34: SEA, E/2NW/4, S/2NE/4, NW/4NE/4, W/2NE/4NE/4 <br />Section 35: Portion of SW/4, SW/4NW/4, W/2W/2SE/4NW/4 <br />Township 9 South, Range 89 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 2: Portions of the NW/4, Portions of the N/2SW/4 <br />Section 3: NE/4, N/2SE/4 <br />The total permit area contains 1,086 acres. <br />A copy of the proposed technical revision is available for public inspection at the Garfield <br />County Clerk and Recorder's Office, Garfield County Courthouse, Glenwood Springs, CO <br />and at the offices of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St., <br />Room 215, Denver, CO, 80203, (303) 866-3567. Written comments regarding this <br />application may be submitted to and additional information may be obtained from the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety at the above address. Written comments must <br />be received by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety within 10 days after the date <br />of this publication in order to be considered.
