(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2(1(L(777
INSPECTION DATE: 5/3/1(1 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: MAC
OBSERVATIONS
The "inspection was conducted by Michael Cunningham of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
(Division). Ed Grimes was also present for the inspection. The Dill Pit is located 4.5 miles southwest of Limon,
Colorado.
This was a pre-operational inspection of a 110 Construction Materials Reclamation Permit. The permit
application was filed for review on October 5; 2009. The Applicant submitted an Amendment to the permit
application on April 19, 2010. The Amendment was submitted as a result of changing the location of the site
entrance from County Road 189 to Highway 24. The permit application is currently under Division review; the
Division's decision date is May 19, 2010. The public notice sign was posted and the boundary of the affected
area was delineated with monuments. The Dill Pit is partially located within an ephemeral creek that is tributary
to the Big Sandy Creek; the primary land use of the surrounding area is rangeland. The proposed post-mining
land use is rangeland.
The Dill Pit will be dry mined; groundwater is not to be exposed. The creek did not contain any water at the
time of the inspection. The Applicant has indicated a Storm Water Discharge Permit will be obtained. Onsite
processing of product will include a portable washing/screening plant and an asphalt hot plant. The only
structures within 200 feet of the affected area are County Road 189 and a barbed wire fence. The Operator has
not yet submitted agreements with the owners of the structures.
Based on this inspection, no observations were made that would restrict the approval of this application. This
concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Tracy Grimes
OPERATOR: Tracy and Ed Grimes
STREET: 47570 HWY_ 94
CITY/STATE/ZIP: I imnn C-0 80898
