Permit Amendment (AM-06) - Climax Mine • A-2 Affected Area Description • The proposed affected area encompasses a total of 7,854 acres. The proposed affected area is shown on Figure AM-06-13-01 (Exhibit B) and the 1980 and 1997 approved affected land boundaries are shown in relation to the proposed affected area boundary on Figure AM-06-C-01 (Exhibit C). The proposed affected area boundary was selected to encompass areas that have the potential to be disturbed during future mining and reclamation activities and to encompass the area between the existing interceptors. Because signage of the entire affected land boundary is impractical, permanent landmarks and consistent offsets have been defined to make the affected area boundary easier to identify in the field. Table A-2 outlines the landmarks and offsets used for each stretch of the proposed affected area boundary.
