Alamosa Pit #2, Permit No. M-1983-175 <br />NV ED. <br />MAY 10 2010 <br />Division Gr RzciWarn"on, <br />Mining and Safety <br />Request extension to correct Items # 1 and #2, under "Problems/Possible Violations and <br />Corrective Actions" listed in the Inspection Report dated 09/26/2007 for MLRB permit <br />No. M-1983-175, Alamosa Pit # 2, Southwest Ready Mix, Inc. <br />Dear Mr. Bob Oswald: <br />As you know an inspection was conducted at this mine site on September 26, 2007. The <br />inspection was conducted by Kate Pickford. Since that inspection, the operator did respond to <br />the inspection and provide written information regarding the concerns expressed by the DRMS. <br />The Division identified several items needing corrective action. Item number one (1) of the <br />inspection report requires actions necessary to address items that may be of concern to the <br />Division of Water Resources, Office of the State Engineer. Specifically, the corrective action <br />requires the Operator, Southwest Ready Mix, Inc. to, "Either fill the pit to at least two feet above <br />the ground water surface or demonstrate that the operation is in compliance with the Office of <br />the State Engineer within sixty (60) days of receipt of this inspection report." <br />Of the two options offered, the Operator chooses, at this time, to explore securing water rights <br />sufficient to satisfy SEO possible concerns. This process is not very speedy it might take will <br />take some months to conclude.
