O. Box 1430 <br />Palisade CO 81526 <br />Dear People: <br />CIVIL ENGINEERING <br />CONST. MANAGEMENT <br />Snowcap Coal Company, Inc. (SCC) is responsible for the reclamation of the Roadside North and <br />South Portals under Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS), Permit No. C-81-041. <br />The mine ceased its underground workings in December, 1999. <br />SCC has formally requested a bond release from the DRMS asking that approximately 7288 <br />acres be released from the bond. In accordance with the Division's Rule 3.03.2(1), SCC is <br />required to send written notice of its bond release request to adjacent land owners, surface <br />owners and various local governing bodies. <br />The area for which the bond release is being requested is the Roadside Mines, North and South <br />Portals, and are located approximately three miles northeast of Palisade, CO at the Interstate 70, <br />Cameo Exit No. 46. The areas SCC is requesting released have had no surface disturbances in <br />regards to mining facilities or structures, although portions of these areas have been undermined. <br />The areas are more particularly described as follows: <br />Township 10 South. Ranae 98 West. 6th P.M.. Mesa Countv. CO <br />All or portions of Sections 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34 & 35 <br />Township 11 South, Range 98 West, 6th P.M., Mesa County, CO <br />All or portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13 & 14 <br />Township 11 South, Range 97 West, 6th P.M., Mesa County, CO <br />All or portions of Sections 6, 7 & 18 <br />Township 1 South. Ranae 2 East. Ute P.M.. Mesa Countv. CO <br />All or portions of Section 1 <br />All work has been performed in accordance with plans approved by the DRMS. <br />Sincerely, <br />/? <br />J. E.
