not be accessed in the First Quarter 2010 due to deep snow. Previous and current flow <br />rates and field parameters at DP Spring and PR Spring are summarized in Sections 4 and <br />5 of the Hydrological Report, respectively. Analytical data from previously collected <br />samples from PR Spring are summarized in Table 2. <br />Monitoring Well W-1 <br />Monitoring Well W-1 was installed on October 12, 2008 for the purpose of characterizing <br />and monitoring groundwater quality downgradient of the waste rock dump. During the <br />quarter Monitoring Well W-1 was sampled once, on February 4, 2009. Previous and <br />current water levels and field parameters are summarized in Section 6 of the Hydrological <br />Report and the analytical data from Monitoring Well W-1 is summarized in Table 3. The <br />analytical data report for the collected sample is included in Appendix A of the report. <br />The water level, field parameters and analytical data from Monitoring Well W-1 was <br />similar in chemistry and water quality to previous sampling events with the exception of <br />a slightly lower pH than measured in previous quarters. <br />The most recent sampling event was the final of eight required events to establish <br />baseline conditions. Following the First Quarter of 2010, the water level at Monitoring <br />Well W-1 will be measured quarterly and samples will be collected annually to detect <br />changes in water quality. <br />Lumsden Canyon Seen <br />The Lumsden Canyon Seep (also referred to in earlier reports as Lumsden Canyon <br />Spring) was monitored for field parameters and sampled in June and December of 2008. <br />This location was monitored by Western Water & Land, Inc. during hydrologic <br />reconnaissance required by BLM stipulations to the mine permit. The field parameters <br />measured are summarized in Section 7 of the Hydrological Report while the analytical <br />data from the Lumsden Canyon Seep samples is summarized in Table 4. No further <br />sampling or field parameter measurement events are scheduled at this time. <br />Rajah 49 Thornton Portal <br />Water was first observed flowing from the Rajah 49 Thornton Portal and sampled in the <br />Third Quarter of 2009. The estimated flow rate and measured field parameters are <br />included in Section 8 of the Hydrological Report and the analytical data is summarized in <br />Table 5. Energy Fuels will continue to include the Thornton Portal in future annual seep <br />surveys and collect samples for analysis if discharge is observed. <br />Waste Rock <br />Production rates of ore and waste rock are shown in Sections 9 and 10 of the <br />Hydrological Report, respectively. No ore was mined and no waste rock was produced in <br />the First Quarter 2010. Because the Whirlwind Mine is currently on stand-by status with <br />only maintenance activities being conducted, Energy Fuels will be suspending the <br />quarterly waste rock sample collection until such time that mining operations resume and <br />waste rock removal from the mine commences. <br />Sediment Pond <br />The sediment pond has been monitored since its construction in November 2008 in <br />accordance with DRMS stipulations.
